How to Make Police Report in Nepal with Consular Seal?

Today, I'm thrilled to guide you through an in-depth tutorial on acquiring a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) in Nepal, now made effortlessly accessible through the new online verification system introduced by the Department of Consular Services under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Bid adieu to tiresome queues and physical visits – this streamlined process empowers you to secure your PCC right from the comfort of your own abode.

Step 1: Initiating the Online Application

To kick-start this journey, head over to the official website of the Nepal Police at www.opcr.nepalpolice.gov.np. Begin by registering an account, which simply requires your email address and a self-generated password. 

Once logged in, navigate to the "New Application" segment and complete the comprehensive form provided. Ready yourself with the following documents for uploading:

1. Nepali citizens residing in the country: Citizenship (Front and Back Side).
2. Passport holders: Pages 2, 3, and 31 of your passport.
3. A recent, passport-size color photograph.
4. If you're underage: Nabalik Pramanpatra.
5. For the married folks: Marriage Certificate.
6. For those who've moved: Migration Certificate (Basai Sarai).

Once you've submitted the form, anticipate the arrival of a PDF version of your police report within a span of 2 to 3 days, conveniently delivered to the email address you used during registration.

Step 2: Verifying and Attesting the Police Report

Now your police report has come with you in pdf, click on download and keep it. Now the work that needs to be done to put the consular seal on it is as follows. Go to this website www.att.nepalconsular.gov.np. 

Read carefully what is written “How to fill online form of Police Report Character Certificate Verification”. Now, tick “I read how to fill the online form given above. Then click on “Next” and in captcha validation, it says “Enter the text below” and click on submit.

After that, open your police report which was in pdf format, which you downloaded earlier. That Dispatch No., you should put it in the place requested in the form and put your date of birth on the side and first put the year, month and day. 

Now you will see all your details which you filled in the police report in pdf format. Put your mobile number in last and submit. Remember, don’t forget to take a screenshot before the last submit. We need the Reference Number and EBP Number later. 

Step 3: Payment and Verification

For the journey to continue, a nominal fee of Rs.500 must be remitted to the consular department. While multiple payment avenues await your choice, we warmly recommend opting for the eSewa platform, ensuring a seamless experience. 

Navigate to the eSewa app, access the "Govt. Payment" tab, and select "Department of Consular Services Attestation Payment." Input your EBP Number along with the requisite sum of 500.

With the payment confirmed, revert to www.att.nepalconsular.gov.np and engage the "Payment Verification" option. A dialog box will surface, "Payment is verified & Your application is submitted successfully", close the dialog box.

Step 4: Attestation and Download

Now, the crescendo attestation. The Department of Consular Services will bestow their official seal upon your police report, certifying its authenticity. The attestation process generally unfolds within a span of a few hours, it took only 2 hours for me.

To obtain your attested PCC, return to the familiar www.att.nepalconsular.gov.np. There, spot "Download Attested PCC" on the right-hand side, followed by the provision of your Reference Number and passport number before clicking the submit button. With this done, the document can be printed whenever you see fit.
